Jay Morris was born and raised in Lacombe, Louisiana. He attended Mandeville High School
where he graduated in 2007. Jay earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from
the University of New Orleans, where he spent three years as a member of the Privateers
baseball team. He continued his education at Southern University Law Center where he earned
his Juris Doctor in 2021, graduating magna cum laude. During his time at Southern University
Law Center, Jay was a member of the 2020-2021 Moot Court Board, a teaching assistant in the
area of Torts, and a Student Attorney with the SULC mediation clinic.
Prior to joining Morris Bart, Jay also interned for the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal for
the Honorable Judge Frederick Wicker. Jay uses his knowledge and experience to zealously
represent his clients. He strives to meet client expectation and obtain them the benefits they
deserve.
When not practicing law, Jay enjoys golfing, cheering on the New Orleans Saints and LSU
Tigers, and spending as much time as possible with his wife and two boys.
