G. Laithan Simmerman was born in Mobile, Alabama. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Mississippi State University in 2017, where he received a degree in political science. While attending Mississippi State, he served as Vice President of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. While in college, Laithan spent a summer in Washington, D.C. as a congressional intern for U.S. Senator Thad Cochran
ln 2020, Laithan received his Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law, where he served as Student Body President, and was a member of the Moot Court Board. White in law school he served as an intern for Mississippi State Senator Brice Wiggins and as an extern for United States Congressman Michael Guest. He also served as a legal intern for the Mobile County District Attorney’s office and for Mobile County District Court Judge Spiro Cheriogotis.
Laithan joined Morris Bart in 2022. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Mississippi and Alabama. He currently serves as President of the Harrison County Young Lawyers Association, and as a member of the Mississippi Bar’s Public Information Committee.
