LaShanda is a former prosecutor with the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office and the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office. While with the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office, she was first assigned to the Trials Division, then the Homicide Unit, where she specialized in prosecuting homicide cases. While with the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office, she was assigned to the Trial Division where she oversaw cases involving misdemeanors, property crimes, sex crimes, drug offenses, and homicides.
LaShanda has also worked with the Orleans Public Defender’s Office, St. John the Baptist Public Defender’s Office, and the Office of the Public Defender’s in Jefferson Parish, practicing criminal defense.
