
Tyler R. Heflin is a native of Gulfport, MS and a graduate of Christian Collegiate Academy. Mr. Heflin received a basketball scholarship at the University of Greenville in Greenville, Illinois. His basketball career was cut short due to an injury. He then transferred to the University of Southern Mississippi, where he graduated with honors, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi, Mr. Heflin attended law school at Mississippi College School of Law. During law school, Mr. Heflin worked at a solo practitioner’s law firm that practiced personal injury law.
Before joining Morris Bart, Mr. Heflin began his career practicing criminal defense. During this time, Mr. Heflin tried numerous jury trials in both state and federal courts across Mississippi. Mr. Heflin then became the Assistant City Prosecutor for the City of Gulfport, where he tried dozens of bench trials and was personally responsible for prosecuting hundreds of cases each month.
