We wanted to share a story from last month that highlights something good that happened on the roads. UPS has a group called the Circle of Honor for drivers who have gone 25 years without an accident. Globalnewswire has the story.

12 drivers from Louisiana were inducted into the circle last month. This year’s class has 1,316 drivers who meet the qualifications. There are 98 UPS drivers from this state in the circle out of 1,170 total full-time drivers. The most senior driver from the state has gone 42 years without an accident on the job.
UPS drivers receive additional driving training beyond a CDL to ensure the supply lines stay open. They deliver 20 million packages a day, and in this time of crisis we need that pipeline to stay open.
More shipping companies should have safety promotions like this. Safe driving should be incentivized. It could reduce trucking accidents if people knew that they would get a permanent bonus if they went years without getting into an accident.
At any rate, congratulations to the 98 drivers in the circle! Thank you for staying safe on the roads and making all of our driving a safer experience.
