Wrong way drivers are mostly people who are drunk at the time, but not always. Elderly and teen drivers can also get confused and end up traveling the wrong way. Whatever the reason, the results can be deadly if a crash happens.
A wrong-way driver on I-10 in Calcasieu Parish was tangled up in a fatal crash involving four vehicles near Vinton according to OrangeLeader.com. A 76-year old man from Anahuac, TX, was the wrong-way driver. The responsible driver struck two vehicles head-on in the incident. A fourth vehicle was also struck in a chain reaction.

While the wrong-way driver only sustained minor injuries, one of the other drivers was killed. The other two drivers were uninjured in the crash. It is unknown if the responsible driver was intoxicated at the time, but samples were taken for analysis and charges are pending. All of the drivers were restrained properly before the crash.
As we age, our reactions slow down and our ability to make judgments becomes impaired. This can lead to mistakes like this one. We hope that the family of the slain driver is able to get justice and compensation in this case.
