Sometimes an accident happens because of things that are beyond the car in front of you. If you have tunnel vision from focusing on just what’s in front of you, you could miss signs of an accident. Such a miss may have claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Union Parish, Louisiana. Magnolia Reporter talked about the accident.
The accident happened on Louisiana 2 near Century Road. Police say that a motorcycle was traveling eastbound on the road behind a Mustang. A vehicle in front of the Mustang stopped before making a left onto Century Road. The Mustang stopped while the car turned, then tried to continue eastbound.
However, the motorcyclist tried to stop and, for unknown reasons, had to lay his bike down. The man skidded across the road and struck the back of the Mustang. Despite wearing a helmet, the crash gave him fatal injuries.

It is unknown why the motorcyclist fell over, but police do know the brakes were engaged for a short distance before the bike fell over. One possible explanation is that the motorcyclist was following too close to the Mustang and didn’t notice the braking in time. However, this is just speculation without more information from the police.
The driver of the Mustang was unhurt in the collision.
