The police were first tipped off after someone called about John possibly using heroin in his vehicle at a Pilot station. He sped off when he was confronted, crashed, then stole the police SUV he was in while handcuffed. The chase went through three parishes before they found the abandoned vehicle. His original vehicle is believed to be stolen.
We hope that the people injured in this incident have no lasting damage and are able to receive compensation from the state. Innocent bystanders should be able to get compensation if they are injured by the police.
