A wrong turn helped two people save the lives of victims in a burning car in Hammond according to WVUE.
Two men were trying to get onto I-12 and missed their turn. That’s when they noticed the burning car. They didn’t hesitate, but stopped to help. At least six others were already on the scene, none first responders.
They were able to pull the two victims out of the car and get them away from the burning vehicle while they waited for the authorities. They prayed with the men while waiting and kept an eye on the vehicle in case it tried to explode. The others who stopped and helped had left before the media came to investigate what happened.
The condition of the victims is unknown, but if no one had stopped there was a good chance they would have died in the incident. One of the men complained of back and chest pain at the scene.
