Head-on collisions are one of the scariest types of accidents. They’re also one of the most deadly, despite all the safety features put in place to reduce their impact. Head-on collisions are often the fault of a driver not following the rules of the road, like in this case reported by NOPDNews.com.
Seventh District police were called to an accident on Chef Menteur Highway on Monday afternoon. For unknown reasons, a Buick sedan crossed the raised median and struck a truck head-on, flipping the sedan onto its roof.
The driver of the sedan was killed on impact. The truck driver had to go to the hospital to treat his injuries. It is unknown whether the victims were wearing seatbelts or intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Any number of reasons could have caused this. Distracted driving, swerving to avoid something, mechanical failure, or reckless driving are just some of the things that can cause a crash. However, head-on collisions like this are often caused by unsafe behavior. No driver wants to drive against traffic.
If you are in an accident and the other driver dies, it may still be possible to get compensation from their insurance company. If you have questions, talk with a personal injury attorney for advice.
