Stop signs aren’t just to keep you from getting hit by another car. They can also keep you from running off the road into a dangerous area. Think of a T-intersection and it’s easy to see. Whenever a vehicle runs a stop sign, danger is near.
That danger lead to the death of two children in a crash that happened in St. Martinville according to WBRZ. The crash happened at the intersection of Salt Mine Highway and Sawmill Highway in the town of Breaux Bridge.

The driver failed to stop at a stop sign for unknown reasons, but whatever happened caused the car to bounce through a ditch and strike a pine tree. A 12-year-old and an 11-year-old died at the scene. Two other children were injured along with the driver. They were taken to the hospital for treatment
Police are still investigating the crash and whether or not to press charges. Should the driver turn out to have been intoxicated at the time, they may be facing a long jail sentence.
The rules of the road are written in blood. When we follow the rules, the level of safety on the roads is much higher than if they’re flouted. Also, if you follow the rules and get in an accident, any punishment you may receive will be much less.
