The more traffic on the road, the higher the chances for a crash. Rush hour is one of the worst times to travel, not just for crashes but because of how jams can form so easily after one. WBRZ talks about a crash that happened earlier this week that caused a severe traffic jam.
The I-10/I-12 split is a hotspot for crashes. An accident happened just before 8 AM on I-12 West and blocked two right lanes. This caused traffic to back up for miles. At least one of the vehicles overturned in the crash, and the officers said there were injuries.
Further details about the crash weren’t given in the report.

Avoiding an accident during your commute is a matter of staying alert. Even if everyone is moving slower, a crash can still hurt or kill you. One of the best ways to stay safe is to signal your intentions. Use your turn signals before you shift lanes, not as you start to move and certainly not at all.
It’s also good to know your route well. The earlier you can get into your lane and stay there to your destination, the better. Shifting lanes is when many accidents happen on highways and interstates.
