The Daily Citizen reported Tuesday on a single-vehicle accident in Walker Township Monday morning that claimed the life of a Judsonia man and sent a Searcy woman to the hospital with serious injuries.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Arkansas State Highway 11 and Rayburn Road, northeast of Little Rock in Walker Township, just before noon, according to spokespeople from the Arkansas State Police. A 29-year-old Judsonia man was driving a 1998 Ford Expedition southbound on Highway 11 when he did not maintain full control of the vehicle in the process of negotiating a leftward curve in the road. He left the roadway and experienced kinetic interaction with several trees before coming to a stop in a ditch, facing south.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. His passenger, a 26-year-old woman from Searcy, was seriously injured and transported to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Medical Center in Little Rock.
The weather conditions were clear, the roadway was dry and in good condition, according to reports.
The incident remains under investigation, and no other information regarding the cause of the accident, the toxicology results from the driver, or other potential contributing factors was available at the time of this article.
