Several recent vehicular accidents have led to tragedy on Alabama roads, according to recent news stories.
WAAY 31 ABC reports that a 44-year-old Leighton man was killed and a 30-year-old Toney man seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident in Colbert County, Alabama. The incident took place about 3:20 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Alabama Highway 20 and Sockwell Lane, about a mile east of Muscle Shoals. The Toney man was driving a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck with the Leighton man as a passenger when they collided with a 2019 Volvo tractor-trailer, according to a spokesperson for the Alabama Highway Patrol.
The driver was transported to University of Alabama-Birmingham Hospital by helicopter with severe injuries, while the occupants of the tractor-trailer were treated at Helen Keller Hospital.

WHNT 19 News reported on a four-wheeler crash in Morgan County Sunday night in which a nine-year-old was seriously injured. Morgan County Sheriff’s Office spokespeople stated that the accident occurred Sunday night in the area of Gum Springs Road and Community Lane. The child was airlifted to the closest trauma center for emergency medical care. Details have not been released on the child’s condition.
Both accidents remain under investigation at the present time.
