WVTM 13 News reported on a tragic Alabama accident last week in which a man was killed after being trapped underneath a neighbor’s golf cart.
The incident took place last Wednesday on the 7600 block of Self Lane in Morris when the victim, identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office as a 52-year-old man from Morris, was working in his front lawn. A neighbor stopped to visit with him for a few minutes and at some point accidentally shifted the cart into reverse. When he departed, he accidentally backed over the victim, trapping the victim underneath.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, but he sadly succumbed to his injuries. Jefferson County Sheriffs Office investigators are currently looking into the incident.
In another Alabama incident last week, Fox 10 News reported on a DUI-related accident where a man hit a motorcyclist last Tuesday in Mobile.

Around noon on Tuesday, a 43-year-old man from Mobile was traveling north on Walter Smith Drive when he attempted to make a left turn onto Airport Boulevard. A motorcyclist was westbound on Airport Boulevard and struck the vehicle as it made a left turn. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital with injuries not deemed to be life-threatening.
The driver who was struck was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody.
