People blame a lot of accidents on inattentive or unskilled drivers. But sometimes it’s the people we expect to drive the best that cause the accident, and sometimes they have to drive recklessly as part of their job. Last year had an accident like that when the NOPD caused a fiery crash less than a minute after starting a police chase. NOLA.com reports.
The strange incident to attempt recovery of a stolen car only lasted a half-mile, but it killed three people and caused four officers to lose their jobs after video footage was released about the incident.

The video shows a luxury sedan speeding away as soon as the officers turned on their lights and sirens. Police in New Orleans are not supposed to engage in car chases, but the video shows them speeding up to stay in pursuit, then slowing down. It is believed that the officers were trying to hide the chase because they shut off their dashboard cameras.
The chased car sped up to avoid the officers, but then lost control and crashed into a building, erupting in flames. The two people in the stolen vehicle and another in the building died in the crash. Officers and fire crews rescued everyone else in the building.
Even if your accident is caused by an emergency vehicle, you may still be eligible for compensation after your crash. Speak with a personal injury attorney if you are in this situation.
