Morris Bart grew up in the New Orleans area, graduated from UNO in 1975 and received a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School in 1978. Law school honors include: President of Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity; Blue Key National Honor Society; and the Am Jur award for academic excellence. He was inducted into the Louisiana Bar in 1978 and is currently a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, Mississippi Association for Justice, American Association for Justice and has served on the Board of Governors of the Louisiana Association for Justice. Mr. Bart has lectured extensively in the area of legal marketing at Tulane University, Loyola Law School and UNO.

In 1980, Mr. Bart pioneered legal services marketing in Louisiana when he became the first attorney in the state to advertise his services as a personal injury attorney on television. At the time, he was a sole practitioner with one shared secretary. Since then, his firm has grown into one of the largest personal injury law firms in the United States with over 85 attorneys, a support staff of well over 150 and an annual advertising budget in excess of $10 million. The firm currently operates offices throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Arkansas.
Morris Bart is a lifelong philanthropist.
Mr. Bart is very active in the philanthropic endeavors, and is an active supporter of Fortier High School, UNO, Loyola Law School, Newman, McGehee and Country Day. He has also served on the Board of Trustees of Isidore Newman School.
As a pioneer in the field of legal advertising, Mr. Bart has been the subject of numerous newspaper and television feature stories.
Morris and his wife, Cathy, have been married for over 32 years and have three daughters. He is a strong believer in health and fitness and regularly runs, bikes, skis and plays tennis.
Achievements and Awards
This path has led Mr. Bart to be a member of the ‘Super Lawyers’ for 2007, 2008 & 2010. In addition, he has been named a ‘Million Dollar Advocate’ and was named ‘Best Attorney’ in Gambit Weekly’s ‘Best of New Orleans’.
In 2012, Morris Bart was awarded “Leadership in Law” award from New Orleans CityBusiness.
