Sierra is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and graduated with an undergraduate degree from Troy University with a major in psychology and minor in criminal justice. She attended law school at Southern University Law Center, where she graduated Cum Laude. While in Law school Sierra served as a senior editor of the “Journal of Gender, Race, and Poverty”. She was also a student attorney for the mediation clinic, as well as a Teaching Assistant in Criminal Law and Legal Writing. Sierra held the position as a secretary of the Sports and Entertainment Legal Association and was a member of the Black Law Students Association.
While in law school Sierra clerked for Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, in the family law division, East Baton Rouge Public Defenders Office, as well as for Chief Judge Cassandra Kirk at the Fulton County Magistrate Court in Atlanta, Georgia. Sierra is very passionate about helping people, especially those in their time of need or who have suffered injuries due to the negligence of others.
