
Ms. Mariela Cruz joined Morris Bart LLC, as an associate in December of 2020. Mariela was born and raised in Mexico but moved with her family to Dalton, Georgia at an early age. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Birmingham-Southern College where she was selected to be a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, and participated as a board member of the school’s Phi Alpha Delta chapter. Mariela’s thesis in the area of presidential elections was selected for an honorary mention amongst her class.
Prior to law school, Mariela worked as a paralegal in the areas of Immigration, estate planning, and business development where she handled complex multi-state litigation cases. She received her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in May of 2020. During her time at Loyola, Mariela completed the common and civil law tracks which now allow her to provide greater insight on possible solutions for her clients. Additionally, she completed various pro bono projects in benefit of the local community in the areas of family, immigration, and property law. In her spare time, Mariela enjoys ballet, live music, and spending time with family and friends.
Mariela is licensed to practice in Louisiana and she is an active member of the Louisiana State Bar.
