A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Ms. Erin Cloyd graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. While completing her undergraduate degree, Ms. Cloyd spent time abroad studying the psychological effects of detention center confinement on illegal immigrants in Australia.

Ms. Cloyd then went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. She was recognized as a scholar by receiving a Law Excellence award for achieving the highest grade in Louisiana Civil Procedure. While attending Loyola, Ms. Cloyd was active in the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice acting as a student practitioner with the Workplace Justice Project. As a student practitioner, Ms. Cloyd helped indigent contractors to recover lost wages. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the New Orleans Bar Association. Ms. Cloyd is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts.
