Christy Sherbrook, Alabama Injury Lawyer

Christy is a Chicago-area native and summa cum laude graduate of Lewis University, where she was the top graduate in both Philosophy and English. She has been licensed to practice law since 2006, having completed her degree at the Cumberland School of Law, Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where she was the Research & Writing Editor for the American Journal of Trial Advocacy and member of the National Arbitration team, which placed among the top five teams at the final nation-wide competition. At Cumberland, Christy received the Scholar of Merit Award (top grade) in Electronic Evidence and Discovery, Law Office Practice and Management, and Real Estate Transactions. She was the Cumberland Division winner of the Nathan Burkan Memorial Competition sponsored by the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, was published in the American Journal of Trial Advocacy, and prior to law school, wrote a successful grant on behalf of the Office of the State’s Attorney in Will County, Illinois to secure funding to support televising child testimony via closed-circuit.

Christy has done both plaintiff’s and defense work. Most recently, she has worked in insurance claims and compliance, where she contributed to a risk management publication and earned a place as a Birmingham Business Journal “Rising Star Lawyer.” She has taught pre-law and law courses at Judson College (online,) the Birmingham School of Law, and Miles College, and coached Cumberland’s National Arbitration team as it traveled to the national finals in both seasons under her leadership. Christy is licensed to practice in all the state and federal district courts in Alabama and is an Alabama licensed insurance adjuster.

Christy is a Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute Angel in Adoption award winner for her volunteer efforts with those involved in foster care, a member of the Momentum Leadership (Class 15) Group, and coached volleyball at Judson College in 2016 and 2017, helping the young Eagles secure a .40 win record in each season, a feat not accomplished in more than ten years.
