Allen Sorrell is a native of Pelham, Alabama and grew up in the Birmingham area. He attended Auburn University and graduated on the Dean’s List in 2012 with a Bachelor’s in Political Science. While at Auburn, Allen was active in many organizations including his fraternity, Auburn’s philanthropy organization IMPACT, as well as the Auburn University Mock Trial Team.
He then attended Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law to pursue his Juris Doctorate, where he graduated in 2015. Allen actively participated in different skills competitions during his first year of law school ranging from trial, to mediation, to appellate arguments. He won Best Oral Advocate in the Donworth Moot Court Competition and was a finalist in the Saad Moot Court Competition during his second year. Allen went on to earn a spot on Cumberland’s National Moot Court Team, traveling across the country to compete against other highly skilled advocates.
During law school, Allen was an extern for the YWCA in their Domestic Violence Services department. After that, he clerked for the University of Alabama System’s Office of Counsel where he worked with University attorneys in various issues ranging from intellectual property, system contract negotiation, to student and employee litigation. Allen is licensed to practice in Alabama State Courts.
