Earlier this month, individuals and teams laced up their running shoes for a great cause, participating in the UNCF 32nd Anniversary New Orleans Walk for Education.
As a proud sponsor of the 5K Walk for eight years, Morris Bart and other community members partner with UNCF to raise money for students in need.
For 75 years, the mission of United Negro College Fund has been to provide both financial and technical assistance to students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Through the scholarships it gives to students from low-income families, the UNCF helps ensure a bright future for students facing these difficult challenges.
The Annual Walk for Education New Orleans is a crucial piece of the UNCF scholarship mission. UNCF is the nation’s largest private scholarship provider to minority group members.
“Each year, we award more than $100 million in scholarships to more than 10,000 students at more than 1,100 schools across the country, including our prestigious network of 37 HBCUs.” (via UNCF.org)
Through the generous donations of participants and sponsorships with community members like Morris Bart, UNCF is one step closer to making an important difference in the lives of disadvantaged students.
