
Deisha LaGarde is a native of Houma, LA. Ms. LaGarde joined Morris Bart, LLC in 2020 as co-counsel. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. LaGarde worked in the field of family law.
Ms. LaGarde graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in Criminal Justice and minor in Sociology. She later earned her Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center where she graduated Cum Laude.
While in law school, Ms. LaGarde served as both Junior and Senior Editor of the Journal of Race, Gender, and Poverty; a Student Attorney with the SULC Mediation Clinic; and a Research Assistant in the Oliver B. Spellman Law Library.
Ms. LaGarde has also been the recipient of CALI Awards for Legal Writing and Legal Research. Additionally, she has served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Jewel “Duke” Welch of the Louisiana Court of Appeals, First Circuit.
Ms. LaGarde is licensed to practice before all Louisiana state courts.
