Community
- Rebuilding the great city of New Orleans is extremely important to us. That’s why Morris Bart is actively involved in supporting many facets of the community. From education to sports, we are socially and environmentally conscious and have a good understanding of the issues in our community. And we want to thank those people who have supported our company by giving back. Below is a list of organizations that we support:
- The New Orleans Hornets
- Loyola University: Morris Bart, a 1978 graduate of the Loyola School of Law, returned to his alma mater in 2003 to dedicate the Morris Bart Electronic Classroom in the law library, pledging $80,000 to this endeavor. Approximately $38,000 was used to purchase video conferencing equipment and to name the new electronic classroom used for student instruction, faculty/staff instruction, research, continuing legal education, career services, and other technology-driven instructional needs. The remainder of his gift was used for library acquisitions and much needed resources for the law library, both online and hardcover research materials. Bart had a wonderful experience as a student and was thrilled to be able to do something for students who follow in his footsteps. “Everything about my three years at Loyola School of Law was positive. I enjoyed and benefited from the professors, my fellow classmates, and the overall learning experience. It is now my privilege to be in a position to give back to Loyola in such a meaningful way,” Bart said.
- American Red Cross
- United Way Campaign
- Special Olympics
- Paralyzed Veterans of America
- Fortier High School: In 2004, Morris Bart was the graduation speaker at former Uptown New Orleans public high school, Fortier. That same year, many graduating seniors struggled to find the funds to participate in the end of year activities, including purchasing a cap and gown, prom, testing fees and other required costs. Recognizing the importance of these activities to further propel these students in their education, Morris Bart donated the necessary funds, in the amount of $10,000, so the entire senior class of 2004 could walk down the aisle at graduation.
