Mr. Loup has dedicated over 35 years of his professional life to representing injured persons and their families. He obtained his law degree from Louisiana State University in 1977, and thereafter was admitted to practice before all state courts in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi. In addition, he has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, several federal courts of appeal and numerous federal district courts located in Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. He has handled thousands of civil cases during his career, and has extensive pre-trial, trial and appellate experience.

Mr. Loup was board certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in 1992, and more recently also as a Civil Pre-trial Practice Advocate.  In each of the last six years he was selected as a “Super Lawyer” in the field of General Personal Injury for Plaintiffs by Super Lawyers magazine in association with St. Charles Avenue and Louisiana Life magazines. This recognition came after surveying thousands of ballots sent to other lawyers in Louisiana each year regarding Mr. Loup’s peer recognition and professional achievements.  This distinction places Terry Loup in the top 10% of all attorneys in the state of Louisiana. He is also one of only 100 lawyers in the state of Louisiana to be selected for the Million Dollar Advocate Forum in recognition of his successful experience in handling large and complex cases.
